About Me

I am a Chicago-based mother-artist and educator exploring connection, catharsis, and healing through live performance. At a time when daily experiences–from work meetings to grocery shopping–are increasingly mediated by technology, I am committed to physical presence through the body in all its vulnerability, tenderness, and power. Drawing from Daoist spiritual practice and movement traditions including butoh, contact improvisation, and physical theater, my work moves between durational and site-specific performances in unexpected public spaces to dance theater in black box and DIY venues. I have received support from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and have been an artist-in-residence Links Hall, Roman Susan Gallery, and Synapse Arts. I live on the west side of Chicago, where I collaborate with my partner, Kevin, tending to our two bubbling children, an overgrown garden, and a cohort of cats.
